A 46-year-old woman has died after a unit fire in Belconnen on Monday morning.

At about 6.40am, police and emergency services were called to a fire at Osborne Place.

On arrival, officers and firefighters found the woman inside the unit. Attempts were made to revive her, but she died at the scene.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
