A Fisher man has been charged over an alleged $1.4 million fraud involving business email compromise scams.
Police allege the 49-year-old facilitated the movement of more than $1.4 million obtained through the scams, converting the money into gold bullion and cash to avoid detection.
It is also alleged he opened multiple bank accounts and supplied them to associates, which were then used to redirect funds during large financial transactions, including real estate settlements.
Police say they searched his home in Fisher on Friday as part of the investigation, where they seized high-value items including gold jewellery and about $20,000 in cash.
The man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with five counts relating to proceeds of crime and five counts of receiving stolen property.
