A 44-year-old Kambah man has been charged after allegedly driving under the influence of drugs while on a suspended licence in Canberra’s north-west.
Police say the man was stopped about 11.10pm on Wednesday on William Hovell Drive in Whitlam.
Checks allegedly revealed he was driving on a suspended licence and that the vehicle was unregistered, having expired in March 2024.
The driver underwent roadside alcohol and drug testing, which allegedly returned a positive result. Further testing at Belconnen Police Station also allegedly returned a positive result for a prescribed drug.
Police say the man was subject to good behaviour obligations at the time of the incident.
He has been charged with drug driving, using an unregistered vehicle, and driving while suspended.
