Hotel death ‘not suspicious’, say police

A 40-year-old Canberra woman’s body has been found in a hotel on Akuna Street, but police say her death “does not appear to be suspicious”.

Police were called to the Civic Hotel about 11.15am on Thursday, after staff found the woman and believed her to be dead.

Paramedics attended the scene and confirmed the woman had died, and an investigation started.

On Thursday night police said that while they continued to investigate the circumstances of this incident, the woman’s death didn’t appear to be suspicious and a report would be prepared for the coroner.

Anyone with information should call police on 1800 333000.
