A COLLAPSED, national, luxury limo company is still open to bookings made online for travel to and from Canberra Airport.
Brunel Chauffeur Drive and Limousines Pty Ltd went into liquidation earlier this week with creditors reportedly owed $12 million.
Insolvency firm HoganSprowles was appointed.
The company offered luxury limousine services across Australia and it’s been revealed that affluent private-jet customers were picked up from the airport. It’s not known how many politicians used the service at Canberra airport when travelling to and from federal parliament now that sittings have resumed after the winter break.
Liquidators estimate there was just over $8 million in the company’s bank account, of which more than $4 million is owed to staff. The company is reported to have more than 100 creditors owed nearly $12-million.
As of Friday, the company was still offering reservations in Canberra including an offer to earn airline frequent flyer points, but no mention of the liquidation.
