MORE information has been revealed about a mid-air scare for passengers onboard a Qantas flight from Sydney to Canberra.

The incident occurred last Thursday, with only a few details originally being released.
Smoke was reported in the cockpit after take off.
It’s now been confirmed, the type of plane was a Boeing 717 jet that returned to Sydney after the emergency was declared.
Passengers were evacuated without further incident.
The number of people onboard has not been disclosed
Mechanics worked on the aircraft which is now back in service.
Qantas is retiring its fleet of Boeing 717 jets in favour of the Airbus A220.
Delta Air Lines in the US is buying the jets as Qantas individually retires each 717.
