Second arrest for drug trafficking

A 38-year-old man has been arrested following ongoing investigations into drug trafficking.

On June 6, a 33-year-old man from Phillip was arrested following a traffic stop on the Barton Highway.

A search of the man’s vehicle revealed five kilograms of methamphetamine, and he was charged with drug trafficking.

Acting on information from this arrest, on Tuesday at 10.20am, police executed a search warrant at a business on Collie Street, Fyshwick.

During the search, police allegedly found a number of items of evidentiary value, while they also seized a sum of cash and a white Toyota Hilux ute.

The 38-year-old man was arrested, and has been charged with two counts of trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug, and a single count of participating in a criminal group.
