A RIDER was taken to hospital in a critical condition after his motorbike ran off Brindabella Road at Coree and into a drainage ditch on Sunday afternoon.

Members of the public at nearby Gate 5 of the Brindabella National Park heard the collision with the ditch and exposed granite boulders, and helped the male rider until emergency services arrived.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition.
