Man caught drink driving twice in 24 hours

A 33-year-old Braddon man has been caught drink driving twice in 24 hours.

About 12.10am on Saturday, police performed a traffic stop on a purple Mazda 2 on Batman Street, Braddon.

The driver did a roadside breath test, which came back positive.

He was then taken to City Police Station, where he returned a breath analysis of 0.180, more than three times the legal limit.

The man was issued an immediate suspension notice, suspending his right to drive for 90 days.

About 11.30pm on Saturday, police were conducting mobile patrol in the city when they saw the same purple Mazda 2 allegedly being driven by the same man on Cooyong Street, Braddon.

Police performed another traffic stop and roadies breath test, which again provided a positive result for alcohol.

The man was again taken to City Police Station, where he returned a positive breath analysis of 0.096, almost twice the legal limit.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of driving a motor vehicle with alcohol in blood and a single count of driving while suspended.
