A 48-year-old Taylor man has been charged after allegedly strangling a woman and striking her in the face during a family violence incident in Strathnairn.

Police were called to a home about 8.15pm on Sunday following reports of a disturbance.

The man allegedly assaulted the woman during an argument. She was assessed by paramedics at the scene.

Police located the man and his vehicle at a nearby address about 10.20pm.

The man, who was subject to bail conditions, has been charged with endangering life by choking, suffocating or strangling another person and aggravated common assault.
