A 26-year-old Casey man has been charged with 14 sexual offences involving a 15-year-old girl he met through a shared sport.

Police allege the man sexually assaulted the girl on multiple occasions during September and October, at her home, his home and in his vehicle.

The pair first met earlier this year through their involvement in the same sport.

The girl provided a statement to police on Monday, prompting officers to search the man’s Casey home that evening.

He has been charged with grooming a young person, nine counts of committing an act of indecency against a young person and four counts of sexual intercourse with a young person.
