Three prescribed burns are planned across Canberra, including a cultural burn at Ginninderry, a training burn at Duffy and a hazard reduction burn at Hall.

The cultural burn in the Ginninderry Conservation Corridor is being conducted with Ngunnawal community representatives and Ginninderry Conservation Trust Caring for Country Rangers, using traditional burning techniques to restore native vegetation and reconnect with Country.

A training burn involving ACT Parks and Conservation Service staff is scheduled for Duffy on Wednesday, while a hazard reduction burn aimed at reducing fire risk will begin at Hall on Thursday.

All burns are subject to suitable weather and fuel moisture conditions.

Smoke may be visible across parts of Canberra during the operations, while flames and glowing embers may also be seen at the sites.

Fire crews will monitor and patrol the burns until they are completed.

People are asked not to call triple zero over smoke, flames or embers associated with the operations unless they see an unattended fire.
