More than one million blooms will fill Commonwealth Park when Floriade opens tomorrow for its month-long spring festival.

This year’s theme, Feast of Flowers, will feature flowers, food and harvests, alongside entertainment, workshops, markets and family activities.

Cook and author Stephanie Alexander will give a book talk, while chefs Karen Martini, Mindy Woods, Justine Schofield and Simon Bryant will feature in demonstrations and appearances.

NightFest will run from October 1-4, with illuminated gardens and live entertainment headlined by The Temper Trap, Tim Finn, Pacific Avenue, Busby Marou and Christine Anu.

More than half a million people attended Floriade last year.

Floriade runs from September 12 to October 11 at Commonwealth Park. Entry is free.
