A 27-year-old man has been charged with murder and arson over the death of a woman in a Belconnen unit fire in May.
Police allege the man murdered 46-year-old Kylee McHugh before setting fire to her Osborne Place home.
Emergency services were called to the fire about 6.40am on May 18 and found Ms McHugh inside the unit. Attempts were made to revive her, but she died at the scene.
At the time, police said the cause of the fire was being investigated.
Following an investigation by homicide detectives, the 27-year-old man was arrested on Monday and charged with murder and arson.
Police believe other people may have information about Ms McHugh’s death and are urging them to come forward.
