Three drivers have been charged after allegedly committing a string of traffic offences across Canberra Tuesday night, including drug driving, failing to stop for police and driving while disqualified.

About 7pm, a 48-year-old Queanbeyan man was arrested after police allegedly detected his Holden Captiva travelling at 124km/h in a 90km/h zone on Tuggeranong Parkway before failing to stop. Police allege he later returned a positive roadside drug test for methamphetamine.

A 43-year-old Farrer woman was also charged after police allege she accelerated away from officers in Chisholm before being found parked nearby with three children in the car about 7.10pm. She allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine and cannabis and was driving while disqualified.

Later that night, police charged a 25-year-old Queanbeyan man after allegedly finding him driving an unregistered and unroadworthy vehicle in Fyshwick while his suspended NSW learner licence was subject to a positive roadside drug test for cannabis and methamphetamine.

The three drivers will face court at later dates on a range of driving offences.
