Woman’s erratic driving leads to drug charge

A Giralang woman has been charged with drug driving after police stopped a car being driven erratically in McKellar on Sunday night.

Police say they stopped the white Audi sedan on Dumas Street about 10.15pm after seeing it travelling erratically on Ginninderra Drive.

The 35-year-old driver allegedly returned a positive roadside drug test and a subsequent oral fluid analysis also returned a positive result for a prescribed drug. Police say she was also in breach of her parole conditions.

A 24-year-old Giralang man travelling in the car was also arrested after police allegedly found he was breaching his bail conditions.

The woman has been charged with driving with a prescribed drug in her oral fluid and breaching her parole obligations. Police also issued a defect notice for the vehicle.
