Free plants up for grabs in Haig Park

The giveaway will be held near the northern end of Lonsdale Street and will continue until all plants have been claimed.

More than 800 free plants will be given away at Haig Park in Braddon from 11.30am on Wednesday, July 15.

The annual giveaway, organised by City Renewal, aims to rehome plants that have been removed from the city’s seasonal flower displays rather than sending them to waste.

Available plants include Pink Pixie escallonia, Japanese spindle, Jubilee grevillea, Winter Rouge wax flower and mixed violas.

The giveaway will be held near the northern end of Lonsdale Street and will continue until all plants have been claimed. A limit of two plants applies per person, with additional plants available if stock remains.

City Renewal staff will also be on hand to provide advice on caring for the plants in their new homes.
