Light rail replaced by buses this weekend

Light rail construction continues on the Stage 2A extension to Commonwealth Park including works around the Alinga Street light rail stop and the Northbourne Avenue and Rudd Street/Bunda Street intersection.

Light rail services across Canberra will be replaced by buses this weekend while construction continues on the Stage 2A extension to Commonwealth Park.

Rail replacement buses will operate between Gungahlin Place and Alinga Street from the first service on July 4 until the last service on July 5, with normal tram services resuming on July 6.

Motorists should also expect road closures and lane reductions on Northbourne Avenue, including overnight closures of the southbound lanes between Bunda Street and Alinga Street and reduced lanes between Mouat and Swinden streets.

The works include construction around the Alinga Street light rail stop and the Northbourne Avenue and Rudd Street/Bunda Street intersection.
