A driver allegedly led police on a dangerous cross-border dash through Canberra’s inner south last week, travelling on the wrong side of the road and colliding with another vehicle before fleeing.
Police say a white Volkswagen Golf was first spotted speeding along Fairbairn Avenue in Pialligo on Wednesday, January 28.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver allegedly failed to comply and continued towards Queanbeyan, crossing on to the wrong side of the road to avoid police.
The Volkswagen was later seen re-entering the ACT on Canberra Avenue, where it was again allegedly driven on the wrong side of the road.
Police say the vehicle caused a minor collision with another car before fleeing the area towards Manuka.
The Volkswagen Golf is described as white and displaying ACT registration AYAC20H.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dash-cam footage of the vehicle between 10am and 11.30am on January 28 is urged to contact police via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
