Two unlicensed men caught driving

Two men, both subject to good behaviour orders, were charged with multiple driving offences on Sunday night following separate incidents in Canberra’s south.

At about 6.20pm on Sunday, police stopped a 36-year-old Isabella Plains man driving a white BMW 320I sedan at the Chisholm shopping centre. A drug screening test returned a positive indication, and he was taken to Tuggeranong Police Station where further testing indicated the presence of two prescribed drugs.

He has been charged with drug driving, driving while suspended and using an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

Meanwhile, at about 8.50pm a silver Jeep Wrangler was allegedly travelling at 100km/h in an 80km/h zone along Ashley Drive in Monash.

The 38-year-old driver failed to stop for police and continued into Isabella Plains before pulling into his front yard and fleeing inside, where he was arrested.

The man has been charged with failing to stop for police and driving while disqualified.
