Classic cars, motorcycles and exotic machines will cruise through Canberra for children and families facing cancer. This sponsored content reveals how to get involved.

Canberra’s motoring community is preparing to start its engines for an important cause when the Classic Cruise returns on Sunday, September 13.

Now in its 11th year, the colourful fundraising event will bring together classic and vintage cars, luxury and exotic vehicles, motorcycles, company-branded vehicles and other attention-grabbing machines to support Camp Quality and children and families impacted by cancer.

Registrations are still open, and motorists do not need to own a rare collector’s car to take part. Anyone with an interesting vehicle, motorbike, corporate vehicle or unique ride is encouraged to join the convoy, embrace the event’s superhero theme and help raise vital funds.

The day will begin at the National Arboretum Canberra, where participants can gather from 8.30am, collect their driver bags and enjoy the pre-cruise atmosphere. The convoy will depart at 10am before travelling through Canberra and finishing at the Questacon carpark for a Show ’n’ Shine from about 11am.

Friends, families and motoring enthusiasts are also invited to welcome the vehicles at the finish line, take a closer look at the impressive collection and enjoy food and family activities.

Behind the costumes, polished vehicles and roar of engines is a serious purpose.

Funds raised through Classic Cruise help Camp Quality deliver programs and services that bring fun, optimism and positive experiences back into the lives of children dealing with their own cancer diagnosis or the diagnosis of a sibling, parent or carer.

Classic Cruise was established in Canberra in 2016 by the SuperHeroesACT team, combining its members’ enthusiasm for cars, community and fundraising. Over the past decade, it has developed into a much-loved fixture on Canberra’s motoring and charity calendar.

Organisers have set an ambitious target of $250,000 for the 2026 event, with participants already raising more than $150,000.

Motorbike riders are asked to raise a minimum of $25, while other vehicle entrants have a minimum fundraising commitment of $50. Entrants can then invite friends, relatives and colleagues to support their fundraising page.

There is an extra incentive to get donations moving early: the leading fundraiser at 9pm on Saturday, September 12, will have the honour of leading the Classic Cruise through Canberra. Fundraising will continue until midday on Sunday, when the event’s top 10 fundraisers will be announced.

Canberrans who do not have a vehicle to enter can still make a meaningful difference by donating directly to Classic Cruise or supporting one of its registered participants or teams. Donations are tax deductible.
