80-year-old woman charged with knife threat

An 80-year-old Nicholls woman was arrested on Monday after allegedly threatening her husband with a knife, throwing items at him and damaging his hearing aids.

Police say she has been charged with aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm, property damage and possessing an offensive weapon with intent.

In other alleged family violence incidents across Canberra, a 37-year-old Bonython man allegedly assaulted his partner at a Gordon home about 3.30am on Wednesday, March 11, causing injuries to her face and chest.

The incident was later reported to police, with the man arrested at 4am on Monday. He has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

A 38-year-old Whitlam man was arrested on Sunday after allegedly stalking and assaulting his partner on three occasions across February and March. He has been charged with assault, stalking and property damage.

A 24-year-old Whitlam woman was also arrested on Sunday after she allegedly assaulted her mother with a knife, causing minor hand injuries. She has been charged with aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
