A 28-year-old Wanniassa woman and a 32-year-old Wanniassa man have been charged after allegedly stealing clothes from a department store in Belconnen on Friday afternoon.

The couple was was stopped by a security officer after allegedly stealing numerous clothing items. The man allegedly became verbally aggressive.

Police arrested the man and woman and, in searching a bag believed to belong to the man, located numerous stolen items.

The man was charged with aggravated robbery (in company) and minor theft. The woman was charged with joint commission minor theft and unlawful possession of stolen property.
