Police chase stolen car in Richardson

A 23-year old Chisholm man, subject to bail conditions and unlicensed to drive, has been arrested following a police pursuit in Richardson on Thursday morning.

Police were called to a home in Richardson following reports that a man, allegedly carrying knives, had stolen a vehicle early on Thursday morning.

At 7am police attempted to stop the vehicle in Richardson and later in Chisholm.

Police say the vehicle mounted a dead-end footpath to evade them. The driver then reversed the car into a residential fence before fleeing again.

The man was eventually arrested around 7.25am in a Richardson backyard as he attempted to get into another vehicle.

The man, who was subject to bail conditions, was charged with two counts of failing to stop for police, two counts of damaging  property, burglary and unlicensed driving.
