A man suffered several deep lacerations to his head and body after an alleged machete attack in Mitchell on Saturday night.

He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police are seeking witnesses to the 10.30pm attack on Sandford Street. They don’t believe the incident occurred at the Spilt Milk Festival, which was being held at Epic.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage should contact police via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
