Man charged with using counterfeit notes

A 37-year-old man has been charged with fraud and weapon possession offences after allegedly using counterfeit currency at businesses in Canberra.

Police allege the man used counterfeit banknotes to buy food at fast food outlets in Phillip and Griffith.

Police searched the man’s Narrabundah home on Friday morning and seized counterfeit notes, about 70 grams of cocaine, a gel blaster, tasers and other prohibited weapons.

He was arrested and charged with fraud, trafficking in a controlled substance, possessing a prohibited firearm and prohibited weapons.
