There was quite a buzz on Thursday evening at M16 Artspace in Griffith when its board chair, Kishwar Rahman, introduced the organisation’s new general manager, Lucy Chetcuti.
With a first-class honours degree in painting from the ANU, she has exhibited in Canberra, with solo exhibitions at Canberra Contemporary Art Space Manuka, Strathnairn Arts and M16 and in Goulburn Art Award Finalist show.
Chetcuti is a well-known art identity from her recent tenure at the ANU Drill Hall Gallery who also served on the boards of Tributary Projects Artspace and ANCA.
Among her curatorial achievements was a recent exhibition at the Australian Institute for China in the World Gallery at the ANU.
Chetcuti said she was excited to lead M16 through its next chapter, especially as 2025 marks the 40th anniversary of the collective arts organisation that would eventually become M16 Artspace.
