A P-plate motorcyclist, “late for a university lecture”, will be without his licence for the next six months after being caught driving at 161 kilometres per hour on the Majura Parkway.
Police say the 20-year-old Casey man was caught riding his Kawasaki motorcycle 61 km/h above the posted 100 km/h speed limit late on Friday morning.
The man – a provisional licence holder – told officers he was running late for his university lecture.
The man was fined $1841 as well as six demerit points, which prevents him from driving in the ACT for the next 180 days.
