
A 34-year-old man from Macquarie was arrested following the discovery of firearms, weapons and drugs in a vehicle in Casey early on Sunday morning.
At about 3.15am, police patrolling in Casey spotted a black Mitsubishi Lancer at a service station. Checks revealed the driver had a suspended licence. A search of the vehicle located two firearms in a hidden compartment.
A further search uncovered ammunition, prohibited knives, machetes, an axe, and suspected illicit drugs.
The driver was arrested charged with three counts of possessing ammunition, two counts of possessing a prohibited firearm, and driving with a suspended licence.
