Former PE teacher charged with historical sexual assaults

A 67-year-old man, who was a physical education teacher at St Francis Xavier College between 1984 and 1993, has been accused of multiple sexual offences against a student.

The police Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team continues to investigate the alleged actions of the teacher, who was was charged in September, and is calling for information from former students or staff who were at the school from 1984 to 1993 about the alleged sexual offending.

Police say they have dedicated and specialist sexual assault investigators who guide victims through the investigative process. Victims are also provided with specialist assistance from support agencies including Victim Support ACT and the Canberra Rape Crisis Centre.
