Teens charged with multiple car thefts

Still missing… a black Audi SQ5 (ACT registration YPJ 66H) stolen from Red Hill on October 3.

Four teenage boys have been charged after allegedly stealing several vehicles and attempting to break into homes last month.

Police searched an address in Macquarie on October 3 and arrested two boys allegedly involved in the burglary. The other two were arrested on Thursday morning at the same address.

On September 28, police allege the four youths drove a stolen Audi sedan to Denman Prospect and attempted to enter two homes before fleeing without gaining entry.

The boys then allegedly drove to Yarralumla and stole a grey Aston Martin, silver Bentley and a grey Porsche from a home early Sunday morning, abandoning the Audi in Weston.

The three vehicles were captured on CCTV cameras at a petrol station in Holt where the group filled up two vehicles and left without paying.

The vehicles were recovered the next day after being abandoned in Macquarie, Macgregor and Nicholls.

The black BMW X2 (NSW registration EYF 90F) stolen from Sydney on October 8.

Police also believe the group is responsible for the theft of two other vehicles – a black Audi SQ5 (ACT registration YPJ 66H) stolen from Red Hill on October 3, and a black BMW X2 (NSW registration EYF 90F) stolen from Sydney on October 8 – which are yet to be recovered by police.

All four have been charged with several offences, including driving a motor vehicle without consent, aggravated burglary, and unlawful possession of stolen property, and all four were on bail at the time of the alleged offences.
