Canberra kids project their dreams in ‘Vivid’

THIRTEEN young artists from Canberra are projecting their imaginative worlds on to Sydney’s oldest building during “Vivid”.

Guided by teachers Jessica Dabro and Mikki Trail, six Canberra Grammar School students and seven Blue Gum Community School students collaborated with the animators and designers of Spinifex Group to create and project their animated artwork in a into a six-minute projection onto Cadman’s Cottage, often called Sydney’s oldest building.

Working to the theme of “endangered species”, the students, Olive Aronson, Matilda Bennett, Finley Bobroff, Alyssa Cassimatis, Clio Connal, Shantini Garrick, Stella Laurence-Rogers, Poppy Levings, James MacFarlane, Ayana Mehra, Ben Parker, David Zhang and George Zhang, wanted to share their visions of our native species and remind us of the importance of ensuring their survival.

“Vivid Kids” projections, Cadman’s Cottage, 110 George Street, Sydney, 6pm-11pm until June 17.
