A Casey woman has won $1.25 million in Saturday Lotto, describing the surprise windfall as “peace of mind and relief” as she heads towards retirement.
The ACT resident held one of 16 division one winning entries nationally in draw 4651, drawn on February 14. Each division one winner received $1.25 million, with the ACT entry the only top prize in the territory.
“I’m just so happy! Brilliant! It’s brilliant,” she said when an official from The Lott confirmed her prize.
The woman said she checked her ticket the following morning and initially thought she had won $120.
“My brain didn’t register all the digits,” she said. “It’s a little bit more than that – one point two five million dollars!
“This just takes the whole stress out of things.
“We’re doing alright, but this allows us to help the family and as we’re heading to retirement, this will be a big help.
“It’s just peace of mind and relief. It’s been a very happy Valentine’s Day!”
The winning numbers were 12, 7, 3, 6, 14 and 22, with supplementary numbers 42 and 20.
Across Australia, division one winning entries were sold in NSW, WA, Queensland, Victoria, SA and the ACT.
