Woman on burglary and driving charges

A 28-year-old woman, disqualified from driving and on a good-behaviour order, is facing charges for her alleged involvement in several burglaries, driving at police, and driving with methamphetamine in her system.

On December 28, a stolen white Skoda was involved in multiple commercial burglaries where cash and cigarettes were stolen. Police allege the woman was involved in those burglaries.

Separately, police spotted a black Subaru without registration plates pass through a red light at the intersection of Gungahlin Drive and Sandford Street, Mitchell, on early Friday afternoon.

Police say the Subaru – allegedly being driven by the woman – was further observed driving erratically and at high speeds through multiple suburbs in north Canberra before being hampered by police using a tyre deflation device on the the Federal Highway.

The vehicle allegedly continued to travel at high speeds and was weaving in and out of traffic, before coming to a stop on Majura Parkway.

The woman returned a positive result for methamphetamine at City Police Station.

Police charged her with several offences including six counts of aggravated burglary with intent to commit theft, two counts of driving while disqualified, driving at police, drug driving, dangerous driving and breaching a good behaviour order.

Anyone with dash-cam footage of the black Subaru should call 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
