Motorcyclists booked 100km/h over the limit

Caught in the double-demerit period, two motorcyclists lost 12 demerit points each and had their licences suspended after being caught speeding more than 100 km/h over the speed limit on Saturday. 

Police clocked a 28-year-old man and 22-year-old man travelling at 173km/h in a 70km/h zone on Cotter Road, Stromlo.

Officers issued the men with immediate suspension notices, suspending their ACT drivers licence’s for 180 days.

They also received traffic infringement notices for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h and, due to the double demerit period, lost 12 demerit points each.
