Heads stomped on during interchange assaults

Two men were taken to hospital with head injuries and several cuts to their faces, with one of them suffering cracked and missing teeth, following a fight at the Gungahlin Marketplace bus interchange on Tuesday night.

Police allege that a 53-year-old man, who was subject to a good behaviour order, engaged in a verbal altercation with the two men, before pushing one of them to the ground and stomping on his head.

He then allegedly punched the second man to the ground, before kicking him several times in the head.

Police arrested the alleged perpetrator at a nearby hotel and charged him with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and breaching a good behaviour order.
