Former partner stops woman’s car and assaults her

Facing threats to kill her, a woman’s car was forced to stop in Monash where she was punched in the face several times by her former partner, who attempted to pull her out of the car by her hair.

Police say the woman was turning on to the roundabout of Clive Steele Avenue and Isabella Drive on Friday when the man pulled out in front of her car and caused it to stop.

After the alleged assault, the woman drove off.

The 57-year-old man was arrested on Saturday evening and charged with aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intentionally threatening to kill a person.
