A 66-year-old woman is dead after being found unresponsive in the water at beach near Kiama.
Emergency services were called to an unpatrolled part of Werri Beach, Gerringong, after a woman was pulled unconscious from the surf at around 9am on Saturday.
Members of the public and local surf club were conducting CPR before NSW Ambulance paramedics took over. She was unable to be revived and died at the scene.
