The Christmas/New Year double demerits driving period on ACT and NSW roads will start at 12.01am on Friday and end at 11.59pm on Wednesday, January 1.
Police say the double demerit points will apply to speeding, mobile phone, seatbelt and motorcycle helmet offences.
An additional demerit point also applies in the ACT during this period for all other traffic offences.
