Drugged, drunk and out on the roads

The unregistered and unroadworthy motorcycle, with stolen registration plates, covered indicators and leaking fuel, that was involved with an alleged incident in Monash.

Two 20-year-old men have been charged with driving offences, including drink and drug driving, in separate incidents.

On Saturday morning police were called to a disturbance in Monash where it is alleged a 20-year-old P-plater on a black Suzuki motorcycle did a burnout on the driveway before getting into a physical altercation with a male resident.

The man and his female passenger left on the bike, but were arrested a short time later.

Police say the bike was unregistered and unroadworthy, with stolen registration plates, covered indicators and leaking fuel.

The man returned a blood alcohol concentration of 0.116 to a breath analysis test.

He has been charged with offences including driving under the influence, driving an unsafely maintained vehicle and failing to display his provisional plates.

In a separate incident, another 20-year-old man was arrested after allegedly failing to stop for police while driving a stolen vehicle.

Early on Sunday morning police were notified by NSW Police of a white Skoda Kodiaq seen speeding near the ACT border.

ACT police located the Skoda on the Monaro Highway near Hume and directed the driver to pull over.

The driver refused to stop, swerving on to the wrong side of the road and travelling at more than 180km/h in a 100km/h zone.

The vehicle eventually stopped in Monash where the driver was arrested. A female passenger who had exited the vehicle during the pursuit was also arrested.

The 20-year-old man, who was subject to bail conditions, was charged with offences including driving while under the influence of a drug, failing to stop for police, aggravated dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle without consent.
