New director for M16 Artspace

New M16 director, Kirrily Jordan

KIRRILY Jordan is the new executive director of M16 Artspace. She replaces  Emerson Radisich.

Jordan is returning to Canberra from Tjanpi Desert Weavers, a social enterprise of the NPY Women’s Council, which supports remote Central and Western desert women to earn an income from contemporary fibre art. She previously worked at the ANU Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research, where she won the Clare Burton award for excellence in equity and diversity.

M16 Artspace, located in Blaxland Crescent Griffith, runs three gallery spaces, manages 31 artist studios and houses five arts organisations that offer art classes.

The organisation’s chair, Kishwar Rahman, said Jordan joined the almost four-decade-old organisation at a time of growth and renewal.

It also recently appointed five new members to its 11-person board.
