CANBERRA Symphony Orchestra has announced its inaugural Kingsland Fellows, five young artists who will receive specialised professional development throughout 2023.
The new fellows are violinist Mia Hughes, inaugural concertmaster of the Australian National University’s Orchestra, Enola Jefferis, a cellist from regional Victoria who took part in the ANU’s Women in Music program, clarinettist Milan Kolundzija, undertaking an Honours year with clarinettist Jason Noble, trumpeter Jackson Boyd, who performs regularly at the Australian War Memorial and pianist Vivienne Tran, who performed at Parliament House for the centenary program, “The Musical Offering.”
The Kingsland Fellowship builds on last year’s Kingsland Collective for tertiary players and encompasses solo, chamber and orchestral playing, audition preparation, and career development, creating pathways to professional performance and other arts industry opportunities.
Fellows will have a range of opportunities to hone their performance skills and work with artistic director Jessica Cottis, concert master Kirsten Williams and CSO guest artists.
