A key stretch of Coppins Crossing Road will be closed for more than a day in April as crews install safety barriers on the new Molonglo River Bridge.
The ACT Government says the road will be shut in both directions between Holborow Avenue and Hazel Hawke Avenue from 2am on Monday, April 13, until 6pm on Tuesday, April 14.
The closure may be extended by 24 hours to 6pm on Wednesday, April 15, if weather affects the works.
The government says shutdown is required to install concrete safety barriers, or parapets, along the edge of the northbound bridge deck.
Detours will be in place during the closure. Southbound traffic from Belconnen will be redirected via Parkes Way to Tuggeranong Parkway, while northbound motorists from the Molonglo Valley will be diverted via Cotter Road and Glenloch Interchange to William Hovell Drive.
Further temporary closures are expected later in 2026 to allow for additional safety features to be installed.
